Doobies Didn鈥檛 Disappoint!
One of the best things about the show - other than Michael McDonald鈥檚 still impressive vocals - was the pure joy and smiles that the band had on their faces all night. My favorite song of the night ended up being South City Midnight Lady. Everything is always more fun when the stars of the show are having a good time themselves. The sound at this venue in Tampa is never stellar but when you know the words to all the songs it鈥檚 easier to overlook. The Doobie Brothers played most all of their biggest hits and a few songs from their new album, Liberte. I鈥檓 so glad I got to see this group while so many of the original and long-time band members are still playing together. Michael McDonald is one of my all-time favs, and even though his vocals aren鈥檛 what they used to be he still brought his soulful sound to the mix and elevated the whole experience. I鈥檝e always loved this song but they killed it. Go see Chevelle!
